THE MULTI-SIDED EFFECTS OF GOD’S WORD

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The beautiful thing about God’s word is its multisided effects it produces in our lives. The word is described as water.
Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
As water, it washes and cleanses us from the filth of the world – the wrong way of thinking. Every now and then we come in contact with some wrong thought probably from the media. A daily exposure to the word helps to maintain a sane mind. As water, it also refreshes us as we drink it. Every now and then on a daily basis, take a drink of the word.
The word is fire. As fire, it burns every chaff in our lives; it also refines us and removes all the dross till there is silver for the refiner.
Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
As a hammer, it shatters every mountain that stands our way. When you speak God’s word to the mountain standing before you, it shatters it to pieces. As a double edge sword, it cut in pieces sickness and diseases in our bodies and every devil that stands our way.
The word is the seed of God.
Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
As a seed, when planted, it produces after its kind. If you plant the seed of divine health or financial prosperity, the result will be good health and financial abundance.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The word is light; by this light you walk through the darkness of this world without groping – you know which way to go; it imparts revelation to you. This implies that as you sit under an anointed ministration of the word or studying of the word, these are the effects you enjoy. Stay under the word today!
