TRAVEL WITH THE ANOINTING

Genesis 28:18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. KJV

When Jacob took the blessing from Esau, Isaac called him and blessed and sent him to Laban, Jacob’s uncle.
Scripture tells us that while Jacob travelled he lighted upon a city when night fell and slept there. In the night he had a vision of angels descending and ascending upon a ladder. When he woke up he took oil and anointed the stone which he used for pillow.

This story illustrate that Jacob had oil on him while he travelled. The story of the good Samaritan also reveals that the man travelled with oil, as he used it to help the man who was wounded by bandits.

The oil is a picture of the anointing. And this tells us that we have to travel through this life with the anointing of God’s Spirit. To journey through this life as a believer in Christ without the anointing is not safe.

The anointing was given by Jesus for the advantage of the church. The anointing teaches and instructs.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 2:27 KJV

The anointing also reveals the secret of the kingdom to the saints. 1 John 2:20 says, But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. Pray with the anointing. Sing with the anointing. Study the word by the anointing. Teach and preach with the anointing. Win souls with the anointing. Do business with the anointing and you will not fail. Hallelujah!

The anointing empowers you for exploits. Every exploit in the kingdom is traceable to the anointing. Zechariah 4:6 says, Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Ensure that you travel through the year with the anointing of God’s Spirit. Spend quality time with the Lord in prayer till some oil from God drops on you; it will make all the difference.
