Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.
Man is such a powerful being! When God created man, He gave him one powerful thing, will. The word "place" in the opening scripture is from the Greek word “topos” which means opportunity, right or place. Man has the right to choose righteousness or evil; he has the power to choose God or the devil. The extent of satanic operations in your life is largely determined by you. In the same vein, you are the only person that can determine how much of God’s grace that’s operative in your life. If we have the right understanding of the scriptures, we can actually reduce satan to a manageable size. This is truth!
Unfortunately, many of God’s people have just opened their doors too wide for the devil to come in and afflict them. Satan is a deceiver; and he uses his cunning ability to deceive a lot of people into believing he is some powerful being. Sadly, majority of the body of Christ has bought into this lie.
Jesus has completely defeated and paralyzed the devil – he has nothing left but deceits and lies. Scriptures calls him the father of lies; it's his native language. The devil’s defeat was absolute and complete. Jesus truly paralyzed him. Don’t you know how a paralyzed man looks like? He cannot respond to stimulus. This is who Jesus has made the devil to be like. He is just a roaring lion with no teeth, seeking for whom (weak folks) to devour. Why is he seeking for whom to devour? It is clear: some folks are not devourable. The devil like lions preys on isolated and weak animals.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The devil cannot do anything in your life until you let him in. Make sure all the doors to your life are shut against him. Stop the fear; stop the worry; stop the self-condemnation; stop the wrong confessions; and stop the stinking thinking – these are things that give the devil a stronghold in your life. Shut the door of your life against the devil but open it wide for Jesus; enthrone Jesus by praising and worshipping Him. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Praise God!
