John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches………..
Our opening scripture is by far one of the most beautiful descriptions of our relationship with Jesus. Jesus said, He is the vine while we are the branches. And the same life in the vine, that is the stem, is what is in the branches. This implies that the same life in Jesus is what is in us – we share in His life.
This is mind boggling; just thinking of this scripture makes you cry when you look at today’s church, how many are far removed from this life of Christ. Just take a look at the church and see the oppressions going on; it looks like all hell is broken lose and satan is running rampage in many quarters.
Look at the rate at which many believers are getting sick and dying. And the funny pastor will come and stand at the funeral and say that, the Lord has given, the Lord has taken, may His name be praised.
The question one need to ask is that, can these evils ever happen to Jesus? The answer is an emphatic no. I have always admired and stood in awe of the kind of life that Jesus lived while He walked on earth. He was never disadvantaged in any way. He subdued His world completely and made devils looked helpless.
This is the kind of life that God expects us to live. The day you got born again you were made one with Christ, and infused with His life. That same life and Spirit flows through you.
You are supposed to be doing what Jesus did on earth. It is time we chase sickness, death, and all the oppressions of hell from the church through the preaching of the word of faith. But as long as we are preaching funny things like, you know, everybody dies; we don’t know why this brother got sick or died, the devil will keep on wreaking havoc freely.
The early church was so powerful. When someone died they brought them back to life. Every funeral that Jesus attended, He raised the dead back to life. Miracles were regular occurrence in the church. I understand that the church that E. W. Kenyon pastored, people were not permitted to die below 70. What a church! This is what we need in these last days. Take your stand in faith against the opposition in the name of Jesus. You are one with Christ for as He is so are we in this world.
