Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Our topic today I believe is very vital: knowing what you have been delivered from. Do you know what Jesus has delivered you from? If you don’t know them, you will be back in them. This is because satan will take advantage of your ignorance and afflict you; for lack of knowledge my people perish (Hosea 4:6). It is not the truth that really makes free but the knowledge of it that makes free.
John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The whole Bible is the whole counsel of God. Unfortunately, many of God’s people don’t know certain books in the Bible; probably they think they are not important. In order to be a good Bible student, you must know the entire scripture. Funny enough, the books some grace preachers know is Romans, Galatians, Hebrews and some epistles. These folks are ignorant of the whole counsel of God and are not growing but developing growths.
Most people read only Deuteronomy 28:1-14 and not the rest of the verses that talk about the curses. You can always learn from the shadows. You need to study the curses also. Did that scare you? You don’t have to be scared. All scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16) including the ones on curses and genealogies. The scriptures were written for your admonishing and comfort (Romans 15:4).
Studying the curses with a Jesus consciousness helps you to know what Jesus has delivered you from. From today don’t only study the blessings but the curses too in order to know what you’ve been delivered from. This will help you to appreciate redemption and fall in love with Jesus. You have been delivered from the curse of poverty, generational curses, marital curses, stagnation and disappointments. In this greatly rejoice. Glory to God!
