Hebrews 11:20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

Faith is awesome! It is an indispensable ingredient that permeates the whole Christian life. Without it, Christianity is just another dead religion and a relic of a lost era. In our opening scripture, we see Isaac blessing his sons by faith. Isaac knew he was the custodian of the Abrahamic blessing. And as at this time he was old and wanted to pass on that blessing to his son, Esau.

Anyway Jacob ended up taking the blessing by subtlety after deceiving his father. But something remarkable about this story is that these sons of Isaac knew the value of the blessing more than most believers today. They knew the blessing was not cattle, gold and silver. The blessing was spiritual; it is an empowerment from God that causes a man to function beyond his capabilities. It is that virtue that brings sweatless success and makes everything work.

But we need to know how this blessing is communicated. When God created Adam and Eve, He blessed them by speaking words over them. Hence the blessing is communicated through words. This was what Isaac did; he spoke the blessing over Jacob and suddenly Jacob became the custodian of the Abrahamic blessing. When Jacob was running away from Esau, he crossed the Jordan River with only a staff but he was a blessed man. That does not look like a blessed person to many folks; because to them, the blessing is cars, houses, and money.

The blessing is an empowerment which produces these things. Later on we saw Jacob owning so much wealth because he was blessed. When Isaac was blessing Jacob and Esau scripture says he did it by faith. Today we can speak the blessing over our children and release our faith believing that what we say will alter the destinies of our children. If parents know this well, they will know that speaking the blessing over their children is the greatest gift they can give to their children, more than money.

As a Pastor, you can communicate the blessing by speaking gracious and faith filled words over your congregation. And when you do, believe that these words will empower them to succeed. If you know this very well, you will be doing it in every service. Members should know this too so that they can release their faith when the blessing is released by the man of God. We can bless our property, business, jobs and marriages by faith and see them flourish to the glory of Jesus. Andrew Wommack did this to a particular tree and it yielded much harvest. The previous year because the trees have been left uncultivated and pests have invaded it, it yielded about 50 pounds. But the next year when he cursed these pests to die and blessed the trees, it yielded 600 pounds of fruit. The blessing is released by faith. Hallelujah!
