GOD TAKES PLEASURE IN YOU

Psalm 149:4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

God created us for His pleasure and delight. He delights greatly in us. Don’t let this surprise you. If you were not raised in the word, knowing that God loves you, statements like this will startle you. One of my delightful moments is spending time with my two lovely and beautiful daughters. Every move they make just bring another excitement – it is a delight watching them grow. It gives me pleasure to see my life growing in them.

In the same vein, God delights in you, His beloved child. A man of God was on a holiday; as he sat by the pool gazing into the bright sunshine, God spoke to him and said, “I delight watching you”. I know this may not go well with religious folks. To them you have to be fasting and praying real hard before God will speak to you – sitting by a pool is not spiritual to them. The Bible declares that God came to commune with Adam in the cool of the day. Don’t get me wrong; I do believe in fasting and prayers which positions you to hear from God. These are things I do on regular basis. But most of the things God spoke to me came while I was doing something different. Sometimes God speaks to me under the shower. This lets us know that our walk with God is not religion but a relationship.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

God did not create us because He was lonely. He created us for his own pleasure.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Take courage dear one of God – God is excited about you – you are His delight – He is excited watching His life grow in you. I know religion has told us over the years that God does not need us; but you see that’s dumb to the maximum. Religion never brings out the true nature of God’s attitude toward us. Don’t listen to religion. You are God’s delight! Believe it! Say it! And act like it!
