THE GLORY IN US

Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Several years ago as a teenager, I came in contact with this scripture. It was in a church service; my mother had some bad incident happened to her and God delivered her. Before she gave her testimony, my elder brother, Napoleon, read that scripture. And it has stuck with me over the years. And that scripture was so comforting. Praise God!

The trials and temptations you may be going through right now may be so overwhelming and depressive. And sometimes you feel like quitting or throwing in the towel. But I have good news for you: this sufferings are just for a moment; and cannot be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Notice it did not say, the glory which shall be revealed “to” us but “in” us. The glory is already in us. All we need to do is to get into the position of faith for its release.

As a child of God in Christ Jesus, you cannot be disadvantaged in life. In essence, nothing can work against you. With Almighty God on your side, companied with the angelic host of heaven, you are an invincible force on earth. Troubles that come your way are supposed to be your employees, working for you a far more eternal weight of glory. The Apostle Paul puts it this way:

2 Corinthians 4:14 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

The Apostle Paul saw troubles not destroying him, but working for him. Hallelujah! That’s the mindset we should have. One time a brother who was living in her aunty’s residence was asked to leave. The moment he told me about it, I told him, it is for your promotion. Few weeks later, this brother got his own rented apartment. This is the mindset by which I walked with. I just know I cannot be disadvantaged in life. Sometime ago, we were worshipping in a school building. The landlady raised the rent unreasonably. Few months later, we were in a building far better than that with a very good price. For every disappointment that happens to you, God will turn it for your appointment.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

No matter what you may be going through right now, get to know that you will come out victorious. At least thank God you are going through and not sinking. Apostle James asserts:

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Let your difficult moments in life draw you closer to God. And put on the right attitude. Don’t be bitter; it will destroy you. Be hopeful! Be joyful! Take steps of faith. If it is a financial predicament, start sowing some seeds and trust God for a mighty harvest. There is a glory in you yet to be revealed. Praise God!
