ASK QUESTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLARITY

Genesis 24:5 And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I need bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?
In the previous verse of this chapter of the book of Genesis, we were told God has blessed Abraham in all things. Now Abraham wanted a wife for his son Isaac so he sent his eldest servant, (Eleazer) in charge of his entire estate. After giving him the necessary instructions, the servant asked a question for the purpose of clarity and not arrogance. Abraham further gave him answers which clarified his mission for him. With this clarification, the servant embarked on his journey in search of a wife for Isaac, the promise son.
When given an assignment by either your boss or a superior officer, if you don’t understand your mission, ask for clarification – it is not arrogance but wisdom. Questioning for the purpose of clarity helps to clarify your mission and removes every doubt and uncertainty surrounding your assignment. There are those who when sent and they don’t have clarity, will not ask genuine and sincere questions; hence they are ineffective in their assignment. They end up messing up big time and having poor results.
In many working places too, many bosses don’t provide the right kind of atmosphere for their subordinates to approach them with anything that bothers them. This sometimes makes employees to perform below their potential. Employers and leaders in any field should learn to create that atmosphere of friendliness for their subordinates to approach them with questions for clarification. However, there are those who ask stupid questions out of arrogance. This should not be practiced. Next time when sent on an errand and you don’t fully understand your mission, ask questions for the purpose of clarification. This will help you to simplify your mission and help you fulfill your assignment in a grand style and with a touch of excellence.
