BEHOLD THE CROSS
BEHOLD THE CROSS

Psalm 16:8 ¶ I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
In the wilderness, Israel camped facing the tabernacle of Moses while their backs faced the world. God does not want His people to behold the world; He wants us beholding His glory in the cross. The story of Israel tells that the world is inferior to the church because their backs were facing the world while their faces were toward the tabernacle, the glory of God. The world has nothing good to offer us in terms of health, finances, education, prosperity and the likes. They function with lesser principles while we function with a higher truth. The fact that Israel’s back was against the world and their faces was toward the tabernacle implies that all that God wants is for us to be conscious of the cross and nothing else. In it is the inheritance of the believer.
The world and its systems are falling apart at an alarming rate. It is only a fool that will put faith in this sinking ship. The world is peripheral to the church. There is no way the world can be superior to the church. The devil is the god of this world’s system while Jesus is the God of the kingdom of God where we belong. These are two different systems guided by different principles. If you go by the principle of the world you are submitting yourself to the devil and his cohorts. On the other hand, if you submit yourself to the principle of the kingdom of Jesus, you are submitting yourself to the Lordship of Jesus.
We have been delivered from the domain of darkness and have been translated into the kingdom of His dear Son (Colossians 1:13). As new creations in Christ Jesus, we are not subject to the world. We are superior to the world. We have a better health system, a better financial system and every other thing you can think about. Our system cannot fail; it is founded on Jesus. We don’t need a psychologist to live; we don’t need a doctor to live; we don’t need a financial analyst to live; we don’t need an ungodly marriage counselor to help us in our marriages.
Jesus is our health and wisdom for financial, emotional, psychological and marital bliss. Turning to the world for help is a slap on the face of Jesus. What we are saying is that “the cross did not work”. But it did work; and it still has power today. The stripes of Jesus is still our only source of health.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Let’s keep on beholding the beauty and perfections of Jesus through the scriptures. As we meditate on the word of God, something changes on our inside. As we behold His glory we are changed into the same image. This implies that we become what we see.
