Psalms 8:1 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Our opening scripture gives us a beautiful description of the name of Jesus. His name is excellent in all the earth. No other name can be compared to the name of Jesus; it is the sweetest name in the whole world. This is the only name that is respected under the earth, on the earth and in the heavens. The name of Jesus is supreme in all these three worlds.

The significance of a person’s name lies in the character of the person. Who you are determines what kind of power and authority your name carries. And there is no other man on the face of the earth with a character and personality that can match Jesus. Jesus is the greatest person that ever and will ever walk the face of this earth. By inheritance He obtained a more excellent name than angels.

Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

The name of Jesus has power; there is salvation, healing, deliverance and prosperity in the name of Jesus. This is the only name given among men for salvation. There is no one human that ever lived or will ever live on earth whose name can even cause fly to move. Not even one. It tells you that Jesus is superior to all men. It is foolishness for any man to compare Jesus with any human or religious leader; there is no comparison.

Jesus is not a religious leader; neither did He come to establish any nice religion on earth. He is God in flesh; and He came to save men. He gave His life as a ransom for many; and because He humbled Himself and was obedient unto death, God gave Him a name above every other name; and at the name of Jesus, cancer has to bow. All things in heaven and on earth and beneath the earth responds to the name of Jesus.

Jesus has given us the power of attorney to legally use His name. And today when we speak in the name of Jesus, demons trembles and run into hiding. We can confront circumstances in the name of Jesus and they have no choice than to bow. There is no other name like Jesus in all the earth. Hallelujah!
