THE ANOINTING STRENGTHENS YOU FOR EFFECTIVE SERVICE

No one can truly serve God the way it ought to be done by his own ability. It is useless to even try it; and it is more delusional to believe that one in his flesh can glorify God. It takes the anointing to serve God rightly and be effective in your walk as a believer in Christ Jesus. In ministry, it is more serious than ever before; to ignore the anointing in your calling as a minister of God is the most dangerous thing you can ever do.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

For the first thirty years of the life of Jesus on earth no one heard of Him except at age 12 when He was heard of questioning and reasoning with the doctors of the law in Jerusalem. After that incident nothing was heard of Him again until age 30 when He was baptised in Jordan river. At Jordan, the Holy Ghost came upon Jesus and He was anointed. Immediately He returned from the wilderness after forty days and nights of fasting, news about Him spread everywhere. He began casting out devils and healing the sick. He never performed until He was anointed.

If Jesus who is the Son of God needed to be anointed for effective ministry, why do you think you can do without the anointing of the Holy Ghost? Jesus needed to be anointed He being the Son of God notwithstanding. Today, we see ministries and ministers who don’t believe in the Holy Ghost power. Everything about them is carnal and fleshly. You must be anointed; it is not an option; it is a necessity.

Luke 24:49 Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

After the resurrection of Jesus, the disciples had the greatest news in the world. Yet Jesus knew they will be non-effective without the Holy Ghost hence He told them to tarry in Jerusalem until they have been clothed with power from on high. Jesus was not in a hurry; He told them to wait. And when they waited and were filled with the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, the rest is history. Peter preached one sermon and 3000 souls were saved in one day. Miracles, signs and wonders became a regular occurrence in the early church.

Today in many churches, it is hard to see someone even healed of a headache. I remember years ago when we cried out to God in prayers to walk in the anointing. We knew the only way we could do the mighty things the men of old did was the anointing. We sought God night and day as we read these miracles in books. And God heard us; we saw the demonstration of the power of God in our lives. These were even times I was not a Pastor. If you are going to be effective in your walk with God, you must learn to yield to the anointing. May a fresh anointing of the Spirit come upon you even today.
