BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU HEAR

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

There is a difference between “what you hear” and “how you hear”. What you hear has to do with the content of the material being listened to. While how you hear, has to do with the modus operandi of listening to a material. Both of these are important for proper hearing and getting the full blessing from a material. In this instance, we will be dealing with “what you hear”.

Andrew Wommack told a story of how several years ago he ran into a preacher who went about preaching a message titled “satan: God’s messenger boy”. In that teaching, this particular preacher preached that God uses satan to run errands for Him. In this kind of teaching, he meant that God put sickness on people to bring glory to Himself; and it is the devil He uses to run those errands. You will be shocked to know folks still believe this piece of dirt.

In this message, the preacher gave a story of how a young boy who was timid to evangelise to people about Jesus, prayed to God to give him sickness to glorify God. The boy truly got sick and died of leukaemia. And at his funeral, four people got born again. By this he meant God really answered the boy’s prayer by allowing the devil to kill him to save people. This is nonsense! This is ignorance gone to sea. It was not God who answered the prayer. The devil took advantage of that wrong confession and effected the curse.

Well, Andrew Wommack believed this kind of message back then, that paints God black at that time; he got the tape and gave it to a lady friend whom she would have got married to. After this lady listened to the tape, she also prayed the same prayer that young boy prayed. Within few days, this lady was diagnosed with leukaemia and she died. At her funeral also, four people got born again. It really matters what you hear. Wrong teaching produces wrong believing which in turn produces death.

This message that says, God is glorified through our suffering is all nonsense. God is a good God. If God is glorified through sickness and tragedy, those who are in hospitals and suffering around the world will experience God’s glory than anyone. But we know that’s not true. Every good and perfect gift comes from God including divine health. Henceforth, be careful of the things you permit to come to you. Choose the things you hear. It is vital. If you listen to the right stuff, your life will be glorious.
