THE BLOOD OF JESUS HAS POWER

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Many believers around the world sing about the blood of Jesus but few knows the power it wields. The blood of Jesus has more power than what most believers present it to be. In my estimation, a lot of believers are guilty in sinning against the blood of Jesus; they put the blood of Jesus on even a lesser pedestal than the blood of bulls and goats.

Under the Old Testament, there was a yearly sacrifice of sins called the “Day of Atonement”; in Hebrew it is known as “Yom Kippur”. On that day the high priest went into the Most Holy Place with the blood of bulls and goats. The blood of bulls was for his personal atonement while the blood of goats is for the atonement of the nation of Israel. If God accepts their sacrifice, they were free for another year. This they did year to year. But scripture says, God found fault with this kind of practice.

Today, what most believers around preach is just detestable. They preach that the moment you sin, you become unrighteous and have to confess your sins and be cleansed again to become righteous. This actually implies that what Jesus came to do cannot even last for a day. The assertion they make is that, you are as clean until your next sin. To me this is the greatest insult of all time to Almighty God. It is blasphemy!

This kind of weird thinking reduces the blood of Jesus to nothing. It exalts the blood of bulls and goats above the blood of Jesus. On the contrary, the blood of Jesus has power. Once and for all time, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross paid the price for every sin, iniquity, transgression and disobedience. Your entire life of sins have been completely washed away not until your next sin. The sins you will commit tomorrow have been washed away by Jesus.

Salvation did not end on the day you got born again. It is the free gift of God to undeserving men. It is not momentary but eternal. Hebrews 9:12 says, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” The blood of Jesus has taken care of all your sins. This thinking is what occupies you with Christ and not self. And when you are occupied with Christ, sin no longer can Lord it over you.
