Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: KJV

Grace sponsored righteousness to us. There was no way we could attain God’s righteousness by our own efforts. Thus we needed a sponsor. And grace became our sponsor to bring us righteousness as a gift.

God’s righteousness is higher than all of us just like Saul was head taller than every one of Israel. We couldn’t measure up. Hence we needed a Saviour.

And Grace came in the person of Jesus Christ to bring us righteousness as a gift. By His death and resurrection, we were made righteous on His account. This righteousness has nothing to do with our efforts or morality. Our highest form of morality and integrity cannot measure up to God’s righteousness. Look at the cry of the Old Testament folks:

How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; Yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. How much less man, that is a worm? And the son of man, which is a worm? Job 25:4‭-‬6 KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Scripture says that our own righteousness is as a filthy rag before God. This you can’t trust in your good works for salvation. Good works is great and God will reward you for it for we are saved unto good works. But good works cannot grant you divine acceptance before God. It has to be on the basis on the perfect work of the perfect man, Christ Jesus. Rejoice in your righteousness in Christ Jesus.
