Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Keeping your eyes on the word of God is so important for the victorious walk in Christ. If you are going to win in life, you must train yourself to keep your eyes on God's word. The word of God is powerful. God and His word are one; and what ever He says is eternal and it is settled in heaven. Hence you can bet your life on the word and it will never fail. This is one reason why you have to keep your gaze on God's word.

Keeping your eyes on the word means focusing and directing your thoughts on the word of God, and allowing it to govern your entire life. This is not the experience of so many believers around the world because they have not been trained to do so. In order to keep your eyes on the word, you must be trained for it.

It is not something that will come naturally; it comes by training and godly exercise and discipline. The reason is that our world today has become so carnal, and unfortunately, this carnality has crept into the church. Most folks are not word conscious, they have become world conscious. They will rather believe what the doctors, bankers and other experts are telling them than what God is saying.

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

What an instruction from the Spirit of God; and it comes with benefits and blessings. God is saying to you, attend to my words. He implies give attention to the word and not what your situation is saying. Your situation may be contrary to what God has said; and in the natural you don’t stand a chance; that does not really matter. If you will take your attention away from what man has said, and focus it rather on the word, you will be amazed at the unquestionable results you will come up with.

The more you look at your situation, the more you will sink; look to the word only. It is what God has said that matters. The word has power to deliver to you anything you desire. What you need to do is put pressure on the word and it shall surely, without fail, deliver the desired results.
