Years ago, we were told that if you don’t live right the Holy Ghost will not live in you. This I believe hindered most people from receiving the Holy Spirit, because in their minds, they were not qualified. I have heard people who were in great shock as they watched people that in their minds were not living holy received the Holy Spirit and spoke with tongues, while they went home without receiving. The reason the Holy Spirit came is to help you live holy. Without Him you cannot live holy. And the fact that He lives in you means you are holy.

If you are born again you are holy, irrespective of the sins that you might have committed. This is the gospel truth which may be hard for some people to grasp. Unfortunately, you will hear a preacher telling his congregation that God does not live in a dirty vessel, this referring to saved people and not unsaved people.

Paul addressed the churches he wrote his letters to as saints. A “saint”, contrary to popular opinion, is not someone who has died and is revered as some special person. The word saint is from the Greek word “hagios” which means one set apart for sacred purposes – I love it. This Greek word is the root word for holiness; and it is used to describe God’s people.

Remember when apostle Paul wrote to the brethren and he addressed them as saints, it did not mean that they were perfect people in their actions; it only revealed the grace of God upon the churches, that God would take sinful men and turn them into saints.

The believer in Christ is holy. You may not be holy in your actions, but you sure are holy in your spirit. Where you need cleansing is in your mind. Unfortunately, the mind of many folks in the church look in resemblance to the garbage hill.

I believe the church need the washing of the water of the word like never before. In the minds of many is fear, anxiety, uncertainty, wrong motives, traditions of men, immoral thoughts etc. May we submit our minds to the washing of the word, while we greatly rejoice in the Lord for His holiness in our spirit.

It is only holy people that can live holy. The more you know that you are holy, that is, set apart for sacred purposes, the more you will live holy. You are holy, therefore live holy. Your body is not for nonsense! Let it glorify God. Hallelujah!
