TAKE HEED TO WHAT YOU HEAR

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

One time Kenneth Hagin realized that he has started forgetting things; he was developing problems with his memory. He became concerned and went to the Lord in prayer. Then the Lord showed him that his problem was as a result of a magazine that he had read earlier. In that magazine, they were talking about people losing their memory as they age.

Now why did he start experiencing symptoms of that? It was because of what he read; someway somehow the information jumped into him and got a hold of him thus he started having symptoms of those kind of things.

In today’s world, information abounds. Scripture spoke of the signs of the end times; and one of them is that “knowledge shall be increased”. And it is happening so fast. And with the help of social media and our sophisticated media system, this information gets you in a split second; even the fellow in the remotest village can get access to information.

When I see the kind of information people circulate on social media, I shudder. People are reading all kinds of things. People circulate all kinds of funny and disturbing images around. Don’t watch images that are disturbing to your soul and neither help in their circulation; it’s dangerous. One of the prayers you need to pray is, Lord, may I always stumble into quality information.

Every information you expose yourself to has something it does to you; sometimes unconsciously, you are imbibing these things into you. If what you are watching is not inspiring, discard it immediately. What people watch are things like, the economy is hard; one out of 10 people have so and so disease etc. When you hear these things, counter them immediately by speaking the provisions of redemption in Christ.

Make up your mind to only read the right kind of materials. Feed on the tapes and books of anointed men of God. Receive information that are only consistent with the word irrespective of whom it is coming from. Expose yourself to the right information that will inspire greatness in you and motivate you to higher heights.

Sieve every information that comes to you before believing it. What you believe will eventually control your life. Your life is a reflection of the quality of information you have received. Take control of your mind.
