GOD DOES NOT HEAR YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT SINNED

Numbers 16:46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord ; the plague is begun.

In the Old Testament, God commanded the priests to take fire from the brazen altar to burn incense. Any fire outside the brazen altar is termed a “strange fire”. Strange fires are an unapproved fires; anyone who offered any sacrifice with fire other than the one from the brazen altar was rejected and received instant judgment from God.

Scripture tells that the sons of Aaron who were even priests who had the right to offer incense before God, offered strange fire and they were struck dead by the power of God.

The brazen altar is a picture of the cross; while the altar of incense speaks of prayer. Do you see the connection between righteousness and prayer? The more you believe you are righteous by faith, the more effective your prayer becomes. For your prayer to be effective, it must come from the cross. This implies that the words that you speak in prayer must be consistent with redemption; other than that, you are offering strange fire.

And I dare to say that so many in the church are offering strange fires to God. Some people have the audacity to stand before God to demand something because they believe they have not sinned. Someone will say, Lord, I married as a virgin; I deserve to have a child. That’s strange fire; it is not consistent with the cross.

If God were to judge you by your righteousness, you can’t stand in His presence. When you come before the Lord for anything, come in the name and person of Jesus Christ. The standard by which God measures you is Christ. Thus, if you come in the name of Jesus, the gates of heaven open to you and you have access to the Father. Let your prayers be Christ centered and you will see the power of God in demonstration.
