WHY SPEND MONEY ON THAT WHICH IS NOT BREAD

02. GRACE PLUS CHURCH DAYSWHY SPEND MONEY ON THAT WHICH IS NOT BREAD

Isaiah 55:1-2 ¶ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

This is God’s invitation to all men to come eat and drink freely of His provisions made available through Christ. All through scripture we see God making banquets and inviting guests to come and eat. For example, in the parable of the banquet that Jesus gave, some did respond, others didn’t respond. In our opening scripture, we see God calling for everyone who is thirsty to come and drink freely. In verse 2 of that scripture, the Holy Ghost counsels us not to spend our money on that which is not bread and our labor on that which does not satisfy.

REST AND ESCAPE TROUBLE

02. GRACE PLUS CHURCH DAYSREST AND ESCAPE TROUBLE

Isaiah 8:6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son; 7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks.

The subject of rest in Christ is so vital to the body of Christ. The opening scripture teaches us a vital key on how to escape trouble. It talks about two kinds of waters: the water of Shiloah that go softly and the strong and many waters. The former represents the peace and rest of God while the latter represents the enemy’s vices and wickedness. God said to Israel, because they refused the waters of Shiloah, the strong waters of the Assyrians will come upon them – this is trouble.

GROW IN WISDOM

02. MY YEAR OF FLOURISHING 2024 GROW IN WISDOM

Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Years ago, as young hungry believers in Christ, we devoured everything we stumbled upon. It was those times I first read the entire book of God’s Generals, first edition, by Robert Liardon. I remember we also read all kinds of poison in the process of seeking and searching for truth, wanting to know God the more.

One of the poisons I stumbled upon was how one dear minister taught about if a fellow brother is sick, you can help limit the burden by asking the Lord to help you share in the pain of that sickness of the other fellow. I remember a dear lady sharing her experience how she wanted to share in a brother’s pain and asked the Lord to be part of that pain; the result was that she nearly had a break down.

A WORD TO THE RIGHTEOUS

02. MY YEAR OF FLOURISHING 2024 A WORD TO THE RIGHTEOUS
Thursday, 18th July 2024
Pastor Victor

Isaiah 3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

In Christ Jesus, we’ve been made the righteousness of God; not by our works but by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. In our opening scripture, the Holy Spirit points to us an important message the righteous man needs to hear all the time. And that message is, “it is well”. The word “well” is from the Hebrew word “towb” which means beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, favor, graciously, prosperity, and wealth. It implies nothing wanting – being fully supplied on every side – emotionally, spiritually and physically and financially. This is the message the righteous in Christ needs to hear.

REDEMPTION CLEARLY DEFINED

02. MY YEAR OF FLOURISHING 2024 REDEMPTION CLEARLY DEFINED
Wedneday, 17th July 2024
Pastor Victor

Hebrews 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

There is power in redemption. The power of redemption is greater than any power in the universe; the extent of that power is unfathomable. And redemption simply means payment for ransom. It means to buy back by paying a price. And in this context of study, the price for the redemption of man is the blood of Jesus, the very life of the Son of God.
