2 Samuel 3:13 And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face.

As at this time Saul was dead and David was reigning over Judah but not all of Israel. Abner who was the head of the army of Saul told David that he would like to bring all Israel to David for him to rule over them.

But David told Abner that, I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face. This is awesome!

That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. 2 Timothy 1:6 AMPC

No matter how large and huge a fire may be, it has the potential to wane and die out. In order to keep it burning, you must do two things: continuous addition of fuel and fanning into flames.

Batteries also have the potential of dying out with the passage of time. See the anointing in you as a rechargeable battery. When was the last time you recharged your spiritual batteries?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Your mind is vital for a life of success and prosperity. God did not create you for the down life or shame and reproach. You were made for His glory; you are on earth to display the wonderful deeds of Almighty God. But in order to see God’s dream concerning you come to pass, the place of your mind in this success journey cannot be overemphasised . You need your mind greatly to succeed in life.

One blessed thing about life is that God gave you a will to choose what you want in life; you are not a robot; you were made in God’s own image and likeness. And since you have the power to choose, you can actually decide on what to think on. This is very vital. You can actually tame your mind.

2 Chronicles 35:8 And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

Leaders must be involved in giving. It is to you according to your faith and not title. If you are a Pastor or a leader in the house of God and you don’t participate in giving financially in the kingdom of God, it is sure you will receive nothing. If the leader in the house of God wants to receive, like every other believer, he must be involved in the giving business.

From our opening scripture, we are told how the princes, meaning, the rulers gave willingly to the celebration of the Passover feast. And I love the style by which they gave; they gave willingly. This is how God wants us to give. If you study scripture carefully, you will see how leaders in the Bible gave offerings to God. Before David died, he made so much provision for the building of the temple running into billions of dollars. Also, his mighty men were involved in giving to the building of the temple.

Job 22:22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

The word of God is powerful. It has power to deliver to you anything you desire. And your attitude toward the word is what will determine how much you can take from the word. When it comes to receiving from the word, you are the determinant factor and not God. This is one reason we all don’t get the same result from the word.

While some believers cherish the word, others too don’t care much. Others too have gotten to the place where they have become familiar with the word. This is a dangerous element that can make the word of God of none effect in a believer’s life. These are the folks who say things like, we know that already; tell us something new.
