Proverbs 9:10‭-‬11 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. KJV

To fear God means to have utmost reverence and respect for God and His things. It is having respect for God's word and trembling at His word. When God speaks to you, you do not take His word lightly. To fear God does not mean to be afraid of God.

The fear of God is the chiefest and zenith of wisdom. It is the mother of all the many sided wisdom of God; this is what it means that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The word “beginning” in the Hebrew means chiefest, principal etc. This implies that the fear of God is the highest dimension of wisdom.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

There are several reasons why we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, the main reason being for folks to be persuaded that Jesus is the only way to salvation, and confess Him as Lord of their lives in order to receive eternal life.

But today, I want to share one vital reason why we preach and teach the gospel of Christ: erasing debt from the conscience of men, that they may serve God effectively according to our opening scripture.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many.........

The ultimate price of sin is death – eternal separation from God for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

The death of Jesus on the cross was the price for your entire life of sin. And Jesus overpaid the demands and claims of justice. One drop of the blood of Jesus is more than enough to pay for the sins of the entire human race for all generations.

SOW YOUR PRECIOUS SEED

Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Precious seed is the seed that is so precious to us that sometimes we find it difficult to part company with it. These are seeds we cannot do without; they are like the Isaacs of our lives. More often, we want to keep our precious seed to ourselves. Precious seeds are no ordinary seeds.

I have heard of folks dropping their car keys on the altar in church as seed with tears in their eyes. It takes a lot of discipline in the word to release precious seed. But you can get to a place having done it several times, you give precious seeds out joyfully because, you have increased in the grace of giving.
