DRIVE THE WORD DEEP INTO YOUR HEART

1 Timothy 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

The word has power; the power of God’s word is not something we can fully explain; it is beyond measure. You will do well to get the word into you; the word is all you need to develop and grow in the kingdom of God.

But the word on its own cannot produce any result in your life. The word has to be planted in your heart before it can produce the harvest. Your heart is the ground for the sowing of God’s word.

It is not enough to have the word or receive the word. The word has to be driven deep into your heart in order for it to be able to produce the desired result. The word in your head is not enough. You have to take that word in your head and drive it deep into your heart.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Most people including some believers are afraid of the wrath of God. This is a true indication that these fellows have not been grounded in the gospel of grace; they have not come alive to the love of God. If you know God’s love, the breadth, height, length and depth, you will not be afraid of the wrath to come.

There is such thing as God’s wrath. There is no doubt that one day God’s wrath is going to be revealed against all ungodliness and sinful men. Any one who does not believe in Jesus for his salvation is doomed to eternal damnation.

I love what Archbishop Benson Idahosah once said, “One day this whole world will be silent.” We have to live with eternity on our minds. If you are not born again, don’t waste any more time. Ask Jesus to come into your heart right now. If you are born again, rejoice and get others saved.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ESV

Faith is the life of the man who has been made the righteousness of God and justified from all things. Our walk with God is that of faith. No one can truly serve God effectively without faith. That’s why I feel sorry for those who attack the faith message and makes a mockery of faith preachers.

From our theme scripture, what the Holy Ghost is saying to the church is that, without faith you cannot please God in your health, finances, ministry, marriage and career. Without faith your health will fail; without faith your finances will fall apart; without faith your ministry is in jeopardy. Faith is the way out of your predicament. Without it you are stranded in life. It is the shield that wards off the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Deuteronomy 14:21 Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

God commanded Israel not to eat of animals that dies of itself; it implies that they should not eat any animal that was not slain; God wants blood to be shed before eating is done. When an animal dies of itself, blood is not shed; and such meat could be dangerous for food.

There is a reason why animals are killed with knife before preparing it for meal. But God was looking beyond the medical implications of not killing an animal by shedding of blood for food. There are no insignificant details in the Bible.

SUPERNATURAL ACCELERATION

1Kings 18:46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Acceleration is an increase in how fast something happens per time. It is also the rate at which a vehicle increases in speed (Advanced Oxford Learners Dictionary). In physics, it is change in velocity per time. Hence there are time and speed factors in acceleration. The word “supernatural” simply means beyond the natural laws and natural course of life. Hence supernatural acceleration means increase in speed per time which is not normal and beyond the explanation of any natural law.

In our opening scripture, we were told that Elijah out run a chariot. Wow! This is beyond the normal; a man outrunning a chariot! There must be something extraordinary in this scenario. Now this chariot was the one the king rode; this was the best chariot in Israel; and yet Elijah did outrun it. Horses are very fast animals; for a man to outrun it, there has to be a supernatural factor in that regard.
