BE FAITHFUL IN THE SMALL THINGS

Luke 16:10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
Being faithful in the small things of life is key to greatness and I hope to drive this simple but profound truth into your spirit. If you are not faithful in the small things, you are not qualified for the big things. Every heavyweight champion in boxing was one time somewhere fighting on the streets, small championships, then to the Olympics and then to world championships.
Joseph was a man who was faithful in the small things. While in Potiphar’s house, he was diligent with his work as a slave. He excelled so well till he was made the CEO of Potiphar’s estate from then on he went to prison; right there he was faithful till he was made the head of all the prisoners. In both of these instances, the leaders left everything into his care and did not know what was going on there because Joseph was so faithful.
And because Joseph was faithful in solving the dreams of some two prisoners, when someone was needed to interpret the king’s dream, he was called upon. His faithfulness and diligence in the small things brought him before greatness. Don’t despise humble beginnings.
David was another man who was faithful in the small things. After he was anointed by Samuel, he took good care of his father’s sheep in the wilderness where no one was seeing him. While there he killed a lion and bear and still no one heard about it. When someone was needed to play the harp for king Saul, someone recommended him.
Finally, he had the opportunity to greatness when he stepped out boldly to take on Goliath. Later on he was enthroned as Israel’s king.
How faithful have you been with the few things that have been committed to you? If you have not been faithful as a shepherd or cell leader, why should you be made a pastor? If you have not been faithful as a sales representative, why should you be made the manager? Be diligent in the small things that you do – both in the house of God and in your career and as you do, you shall be brought before the great.
