Proverbs 22:24‭-‬25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Several years ago, I visited a friend. The moment the father saw me, he did not even allow me to even sit down; then he asked, how did you get to know my son? I was taken aback. Then I said, we met at a quiz competition. Then he said, you are welcome. I have never forgotten that experience. The man was being careful of who was a with his son and influencing him – he was protecting his investment. As we speak, that friend is now a medical doctor.

Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. KJV

The "Windows of Heaven" is an important concept in scripture. When Elijah shut the heavens and there was no rain in the land for three and half years, there was drought and famine. What Elijah did was that he shut the windows of heaven and there was no rain in the land. In the book of Genesis, the Bible speaks of the windows of heaven which God opened, and there was a flooding of the earth in the days of Noah.

When I was a young Christian, most of the teachings we were exposed to were about demons and their activities. We were made conscious of the devil more than Christ. Every now and then you get to church it is about some devil on some street or somewhere in the sea. We left church so conscious of the devil.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

It is sad to see how we get petty with the glorious gospel of Christ. When you hear what some people preach and they dare call it gospel, you begin to wonder in amazement. When people preach against sin, they call it gospel. The question you need to ask yourself is that, can that kind of preaching save the sinner? If it can’t, then it is not the gospel.

DEAD MEN WALKING

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Everyone who is not born again is a dead man walking. Death simply means separation. The unbeliever may be alive physically, but spiritually he is dead, his spirit is cut away and separated from God – this is what it means to be dead spiritually.
