Daniel 6:3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
Daniel was a man of excellence; the scriptures attest to that. He excelled so much till his colleagues were jealous of him. They tried to pull him down but they couldn’t. They sought to bring an accusation against Daniel but the man was above reproach – his life was full of excellence. Look at his testimony:
Then the [other two] commissioners and the satraps began trying to find a reason to bring a complaint against Daniel concerning the [administration of the] kingdom; but they could find no reason for an accusation or evidence of corruption, because he was faithful [a man of high moral character and personal integrity], and no negligence or corruption [of any kind] was found in him. (DANIEL 6:4) AMP

HEARING THE WORD IS THAT ONE THING THAT IS NEEDFUL

Luke 10:38-42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
One time Jesus visited two sisters, Mary and Martha. While Martha was busy with kitchen work which is normal for anyone hosting a visitor, Mary did the unusual – she sat at Jesus’ feet hearing His word. When approached by Martha to ask Mary to come help with the chores, Jesus told Martha that, you are cumbered about so many things; but one thing is needful and Mary has chosen that good part and it shall not be taken away from her.
