THE DANGER OF REJECTING GRACE

THE DANGER OF REJECTING GRACE

Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

As you study the word of God, one of the things most people have ignored over the years is the thing that was said that was not actually said. I learned this valid secret from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome one time while listening to one of his tapes. Let me explain. From our opening scripture, if you take a critical look at this scripture, you will see what has been said that was not actually said.

When you receive abundant grace and the gift of righteousness you reign in this life by one Jesus Christ (this is what was actually said). The opposite is true: those who reject grace and the gift of righteousness will be subdued in life with the world where satan is the god of the system – they will be subject to sickness and failures (this is what was said that was not actually said). This is dangerous!

THE BLOOD OF JESUS SPEAKS BETTER THINGS

THE BLOOD OF JESUS SPEAKS BETTER THINGS

Hebrew 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

One mystery about blood is that it speaks. In the book of Genesis 4, we were told a story of how Cain and Abel brought their offerings before the Lord. Abel’s offering was accepted by God because the requirement was a blood sacrifice. Cain’s offering was rejected because he brought just anything to offer to God without blood. Out of hatred for his brother, Cain murdered Abel a righteous man. And Abel’s blood cried out to God for vengeance.

Genesis 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

LET JESUS BE YOUR MOTIVATION

LET JESUS BE YOUR MOTIVATION

Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Jesus is Lord! That’s emphatic! And the whole world revolves around this beloved Son of God. He is before all things; and by Him all things consist; and in all things He must have the preeminence. Any action, word or deed that does not revolve around Jesus is not the real deal. Jesus must be center of all that we do.

Pastor Chris once said, “Let us do God’s things God’s way.” I have found out that statement to be so true. Our motivation for doing what we do is even much more important than the thing itself. Why do you do what you do? Why do you want to win souls? Why do you want to read 10 chapters of scriptures each day? Why do you want to start your own ministry? Why do you want to lead that song in church? Why do you want your church to grow?

MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE FOR GOD’S GRACE

MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE FOR GOD’S GRACE

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

This scripture is so frightening! It is a hammer to crush religion. The grace of God as powerful as it is can be frustrated and made void. It is inconceivable for someone to position himself not to be blessed by God. But many of God’s folks are wrongly positioned hence they are not fully enjoying God’s favor and blessings. Spiritual positioning is a key to receive from God. In fact, if you are not positioned spiritually, you cannot win in the kingdom of God.

God has provided righteousness as a free gift; but some individuals want to work to attain God’s righteousness which He gives at Christ expense. A lot of people in the church have been taught to reject grace: they’ve been told if they don’t love God enough He will not bless them. Which in fact, God has demonstrated His love for us by offering His beloved son on the cross. Some believe that they have to attain to some level of holiness before they will make it to heaven; when the scripture says we have been created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24).

NOT OBSERVANCE OF THE LAW BUT SONSHIP

NOT OBSERVANCE OF THE LAW BUT SONSHIP

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

What law did my daughter Charis need to obey in order to become my daughter? None! She was born as my child. What law does my daughter need to obey before she inherits my wealth? None! She is heir to my wealth because of birth. This is the way our relationship with God is. We were born to inherit the blessing. Christianity is all about sonship as opposed to slavery under the Old Covenant. Sonship liberates while slavery results in bondage.

Romans 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
