GOD IS A GOD OF ORDER

Mid day Online PrayersGOD IS A GOD OF ORDER

1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

One unique characteristic that you can use to describe the nature of God is the word “order”. All throughout scripture, you see God’s order revealed everywhere. God does not make mistakes; in fact, He cannot make mistakes. Everything He does is in a perfectly and orderly manner. God does not do things anyhow. Everything He does He has a reason for doing it; everything He says He has a reason for saying it.

Order brings peace; order brings increase and prosperity. Hallelujah! Even Jesus before He multiplied the two fishes and five loaves to feed the five thousand men beside women and children, He commanded the people to sit down, and be grouped in companies of hundred and fifty. Till they sat down orderly, there was no increase. But the moment there was order, He took the loaves and fishes, and gave thanks and there was abundance for everyone to eat and to spare.

THERE IS NO OTHER NAME LIKE JESUS

Mid day Online PrayersTHERE IS NO OTHER NAME LIKE JESUS

Psalms 8:1 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Our opening scripture gives us a beautiful description of the name of Jesus. His name is excellent in all the earth. No other name can be compared to the name of Jesus; it is the sweetest name in the whole world. This is the only name that is respected under the earth, on the earth and in the heavens. The name of Jesus is supreme in all these three worlds.

The significance of a person’s name lies in the character of the person. Who you are determines what kind of power and authority your name carries. And there is no other man on the face of the earth with a character and personality that can match Jesus. Jesus is the greatest person that ever and will ever walk the face of this earth. By inheritance He obtained a more excellent name than angels.

STRENGTHEN MEN WITH YOUR WORDS

Mid day Online PrayersSTRENGTHEN MEN WITH YOUR WORDS

Job 16:5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should assuage your grief.

The book of Job is not just ancient story. It is an amazing collection of gems from the Spirit of God to us. Even though the writing is poetical, it is more than poetry; it is God’s revelation to us. It is one book that has a lot to deliver to us in this generation. You will do well to get acquainted with the wisdom hidden in this great book by reading it through and through.

The major theme of the book of Job is all about the sufferings of Job, his three friends visitation, and his restoration. I understand Job’s temptation lasted for about 8 months. On hearing what has happened to Job, his three friends, Eliphaz, Zophar, and Bildad came to visit him. A careful study of the utterances of this three friends of Job really showed they condemned Job without cause. That’s why later on God told them to go to Job for him to pray for them other than He will release His wrath upon them.

HOW CAN MORTAL MAN BE RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD?

Mid day Online PrayersHOW CAN MORTAL MAN BE RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD?

Job 15:14 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

How can mortal man be righteous before a righteous and a holy God? This was one question the Old Testament saints struggled with; they couldn’t find the answer to it in as much as they wanted to; it eluded them. In their minds, this is not possible. And they were right in the sense that, man of himself by his deeds and works cannot stand righteous before a holy and righteous God.

Man at his best is filthy before God. Scripture says that, “Our righteousness is as a filthy rag before God.” The term “filthy rag” implies a menstrous cloth; and that stuff is very dirty and stinks. This is who man is before God. You cannot trust in your good works. God is so holy; according to the book of revelation He is thrice holy. There is nothing on earth that can come before God. The whole world is corrupted and fallen, including man. Look at what the psalmist said:

TAKE YOUR POSSESSION IN CHRIST

Mid day Online PrayersTAKE YOUR POSSESSION IN CHRIST

Deuteronomy 2:24 Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

The fact that you own something does not necessarily mean that you have taken possession of it. Owning something and possessing it are two different things. There are folks who rightly own a property but are not enjoying it because, they are not in possession of it. It is the man who is in possession of the property that enjoys it. To own something means the thing belongs to you legally and lawfully.

On the other hand, to possess something means to seize it or lay hold on it or be in control of that object in question. The word “possess” is from the Hebrew word “yarash” which means to occupy by driving out previous tenants, and possessing in their place; it also means to seize, to rob, to inherit. Even in the natural, there are folks who bought a land rightfully but ended up losing it to some wicked folk. Many have had their inheritance taken away from them by unscrupulous folks.
