Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The life we are living is more spiritual than physical. To ignore the spirit world and just live naturally is foolishness. To just live naturally without taking into consideration the spirit world is very dangerous. There are things that happens in this world that we can't see with our naked eyes; natural laws cannot explain them.

Battles are won in the spirit and not in the physical. And the spirit world governs the physical world. If you lose in the spirit realm, you will lose in the natural. But if you win in the spirit world, you will win in the physical world. Even the physical battles that were fought in Bible days were more spiritual than physical. Most of the heathen kings came to battle with their gods. Israel went to battles with the ark of God.

When Israel fought Amalek, while Joshua and his folks were down there fighting the enemies of Israel physically, Moses and Aaron and Hur were on the mountain fighting spiritually. Anytime Moses' hands were up with the rod in his hands, Israel won; anytime his hands went down, Israel lost. For Israel to win the war, Aaron and Hur had to hold Moses' hand up and put a stone under him till Israel discomfitted the Amalekites.

THE HERITAGE OF OUR FATHERS

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. NIV

I believe one of the most treasured things our fathers in the faith gave to us is the knowledge of the “faith walk”. I am so grateful for men of God who heralded and spearheaded the faith movement. I celebrate men like E. W. Kenyon, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle, Oral Roberts and the likes, and in recent times people like Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome etc. They really handed to us a jewel of all times.

These men knew how to make their faith work for them. It brought them out of poverty and were able to surmount difficult situations. They subdued their world by the force of faith. And more importantly, they taught us these things the Holy Ghost revealed to them through their tapes and books. For this I am very grateful.

Most churches don’t teach the message of faith. As I talk and interact with a lot of folks from different denominations, one thing is evident, they have not been grounded in the message of faith. They don’t know how to release their faith and make it work effectively; they lack the knowledge of sending their faith on an errand. I wonder what kind of life I would have been living if not for the revelation of the faith message!

DON'T GO AGAINST THE WORD

Proverbs 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

There is a way the new creation in Christ Jesus should go; there is a way you should live as a child of God. And that way is the way of the word. If you go against that way, you are headed for the hard life and untold suffering. How far you go in life is determined by how much you obey the things that God speaks to you. God delights in obedience; it is better than sacrifice. King Saul lost his throne because he disobeyed God.

Our opening scripture says, if you want favour to work for you, get understanding; however if you transgress the word, get ready for the hard life. They way of the transgressor is hard. The transgressor can be a child of God, even though born again with the life of God, his way of life is antagonistic to the word of God; his life is always opposite to what the word of God says. Look at what Isaiah said concerning the transgressor:

Isaiah 1:28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Many believers in Christ still lack the revelation of the Lord’s supper which is popularly known as “The Holy Communion”. Thus we do not treat it as we ought to, with godly reverence. The Lord’s supper is power to the church. If we will take full advantage of it, there will be no sickness, weakness and death in the church.

One remarkable thing about the Lord’s supper is that, when we partake it in faith and not religiously, it reminds satan of his defeat by Jesus; it enforces his defeat; it enforces the defeat of sickness, death, and all the oppressions of this life. Now the question is, how many times do you want to remind satan of his defeat or enforce his defeat? I believe you would want to do that all the time. This is one reason why you have to partake of the Lord’s supper consistently and regularly.

Our opening scripture says, as often as you eat this bread and drink of this cup you proclaim the Lord’s death. Now here the Holy Ghost is not telling us to go and preach after we eat the Lord’s supper.

Faith is what gives value and colour to the Christian life. Without faith, Christianity will just be another dead religion with no power. It is very important that you give heed to the word of faith and get to know how faith works. It will do you a lot of good.

Faith has two sides; it is very important you get to know this truth. Firstly, faith is a “shield”. Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” As a shield, it serves as a defensive weapon against satanic opposition. It quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Thus, if your faith is not working, you are defenceless, and you will be exposed to all kinds of satanic onslaught. It will be like a soldier on a battlefield fighting without any form of defence; that is dangerous. You need defence in this wicked world in which you live in. To walk in this world without the shield of faith is not safe.
