Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

When you look at the event of creation, there is so much wisdom to learn from it. It teaches us how we can create the kind of life we want. Firstly, God had a vision of the kind of world He wanted to create. He pictured this in His mind. We have to create vivid pictures through the gift of imagination of whatever we desire to see manifest in our lives. Where there is no vision the people perish (Proverbs 28:16). What you don’t see you cannot become; wherever you have not seen yourself been, you cannot get there.

Secondly, God brooded over what He had envisioned.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: KJV

One time Bishop Dag Heward Mills' student pastor came to him with the report from campus fellowship that God was moving. Then the Bishop asked him, how is God moving? The student pastor replied, people are passing their exams.

Upon hearing this, the Bishop was taken aback. He said to himself, passing exams is good but not certainly the move of God; if God moves souls are saved, people are filled with the Spirit and people are healed and mighty things happen.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Grace is the gospel. Apostle Paul in our theme scripture used grace and the gospel of Christ interchangeably. This implies that grace is the gospel and gospel of Christ is grace. You have to humble yourself and accept this truth.

Thus if what you are preaching does not have the undertone of grace, then it is not the true gospel that Jesus died to give to us. I believe some preachers need to overhaul the message that they are preaching. How can a preacher preach that if you don’t live right God will not accept you? This is not the gospel, for we are accepted by God on the account of Christ.

1 Peter 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

The grace of God has come to us. This is an emphatic truth. John 1:17 says, “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” The prophets of old searched diligently concerning this grace that has come to us; things angels desire to look into it. We are most privileged to be living in this time that was prophesied long time ago; we are fulfilling prophecies.

When Jesus came to the face of the earth, grace came to us. And we saw that demonstrated to us in the gospels as Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, fed the hungry and preached the gospel to many. Every where He went it was the grace of God in motion. Finally, Jesus was crucified and was raised by the glory of the Father on the third day. And this grace that was concealed in Jesus was unleashed on the face of the earth to all men.

Hebrews 11:20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

Faith is awesome! It is an indispensable ingredient that permeates the whole Christian life. Without it, Christianity is just another dead religion and a relic of a lost era. In our opening scripture, we see Isaac blessing his sons by faith. Isaac knew he was the custodian of the Abrahamic blessing. And as at this time he was old and wanted to pass on that blessing to his son, Esau.

Anyway Jacob ended up taking the blessing by subtlety after deceiving his father. But something remarkable about this story is that these sons of Isaac knew the value of the blessing more than most believers today. They knew the blessing was not cattle, gold and silver. The blessing was spiritual; it is an empowerment from God that causes a man to function beyond his capabilities. It is that virtue that brings sweatless success and makes everything work.
