SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE LORD'S PRAYER

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

I know this topic will just cause some people to scream and yell at me and call for my head. But before you attack me, take your time and carefully study the so called Lord’s prayer.
In the first place, Jesus never called it the Lord’s prayer. Again, Jesus taught this teaching on prayer before He went to the cross, and died and offered redemption to man. We have to examine that teaching on prayer with the lens of grace – everything must go through the lens of grace. Now look at the Lord’s prayer:

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9‭-‬13).‬‬

For lack of time and space, I will only point out one point in the Lord’s prayer: And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors (Mathew 5:12). Everything is wrong with this prayer. This prayer places our forgiveness on our works to forgive others but look at what the New Testament has to say:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32).

Can you see the difference? Here it tells us that we should forgive because we have already been forgiven by God. That means we have been forgiven already by Jesus’ finished work. So, we should forgive because we have already been forgiven. Hallelujah! How can you give what you don’t have? It is only those who know that they are truly forgiven that can freely forgive others. A dear lady who had been struggling to forgive someone who had hurt her so bad heard me teach this, and instantly she was free and empowered to let go.

Whatever you read in the scriptures, you have to explain it in the light of the New Testament, including the words of Jesus in the gospels. You have to know that the teachings of Jesus were before He died. Thus to be in truth, explain everything in the light of the new testament.
