Numbers 6:23‭-‬27 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

The worst thing that can happen to a church is to have a dumb priest. When we come to church and the pastor says nothing to you, how can you be blessed? So you see, the blessing is communicated through words. A pastor who does not frequently and consciously pronounce blessings on his congregation is not helping his members. The pastor has been empowered by God to bless His congregation.

Philippians 1:21‭-‬24 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Apostle Paul had an absolute mastery and command over death. What a way to live! Here, Paul was torn between departing to be with Christ which is far better or abiding in the flesh (being alive on earth). To him, death is nothing; if he departs, he will be with the Lord; if he chooses to stay in the flesh, it is for the profit of the Philippian church.

Luke 2:25‭-‬26 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. KJV‬‬‬‬

Simeon was a man who was a devout man – this means this man was devoted, one who was consistent with his devotion to God. He was a man of prayer. No wonder it was revealed to him that he will not die until he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And when Jesus was brought into the temple to be dedicated, he came by the Spirit and blessed Jesus – he knew that this little baby was the Christ.

Philippians 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Righteousness has fruits. This implies that righteousness is a tree which produces fruits. When we came into Christ Jesus, we received the righteousness of God as a gift; and we became the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Whatever God starts in your life, He will finish it. The NIV translation puts the above scripture this way: Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
