1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Sometime ago, the Holy Spirit taught me one vital truth about emphasizing the grace of God. He taught me that when someone asked me how are you? I should not just say that I am good; but I should say that I am good by God’s grace. Later on, I began to understand that what the Holy Spirit was teaching was “grace emphasis”.

I know most people say, by God’s grace I am good; but to them it’s just a cliché. As the body of Christ, our emphasis and main thrust should be the grace of God. And the more we exalt and emphasize grace, the more we will reign in this life (Romans 5:17).

Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

This is one of those frightening verses in the Bible. If you really understand what this scripture means, you will not place yourself under the law. One of the most unfortunate thing that has happened to the church is the preaching and practicing of the law of Moses in New Testament days.

Today, folks still preach vehemently that we are supposed to keep the Ten Commandments. Folks still observe the Sabbath and other things under the law. Some preach that a woman who wears trousers will go to hell; if you don’t cover your hair before you pray you will not receive answers to your prayers.

Galatians 4:4‭-‬5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The whole book of Galatians is about the comparison of law and grace; New Testament and Old Testament; sonship and slavery. If you don’t read this book with this understanding, you will miss God’s golden message in this wonderful epistle.

God’s purpose for redemption was to bring us to the place of sonship. I know that folks do use Galatians 4:1-4 to teach about babes in Christ not being able to inherit all of God’s promises; that we have to come to a place of maturity before we can fully take control of God’s possession for us in Christ.

Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?‬‬‬‬‬‬

One of the qualifications for being a pastor is “given to hospitality”. That means the pastor must be generous. This is very vital. May be you have not thought about it.

1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

This is why in some churches, one of the criteria for leadership is “faithful tithing”. If you are not a faithful tither, you cannot be a leader in these churches.
