Psalms 8:1 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Our opening scripture gives us a beautiful description of the name of Jesus. His name is excellent in all the earth. No other name can be compared to the name of Jesus; it is the sweetest name in the whole world. This is the only name that is respected under the earth, on the earth and in the heavens. The name of Jesus is supreme in all these three worlds.

The significance of a person’s name lies in the character of the person. Who you are determines what kind of power and authority your name carries. And there is no other man on the face of the earth with a character and personality that can match Jesus. Jesus is the greatest person that ever and will ever walk the face of this earth. By inheritance He obtained a more excellent name than angels.

Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

2 Samuel 21:17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

As at this time Israel was at war with the Philistines. A giant named Ishbi-benoh rose up against David to kill him. But because of the timely intervention of Abishai, David was delivered and Abishai killed the giant. Upon this, the men of David told him not to go out to battle again.

What Abishai did is a picture of providing support to one another in ministry. Even though David was a mighty man of war, he needed support from his fellow soldiers and army generals. It takes a unified and solid team to win battles.

As a member of your church, do well to provide the necessary support your pastor require to be effective in ministry. I tell people that, whatever you do for your pastor, you are in essence doing it for yourself. If your pastor becomes effective, you are the one who benefits from effective and powerful ministrations, which in turn empowers you to prosper.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. AMP

You are a success; don’t be surprise by this bold statement. Now someone may be saying, everything about my life is not working and my life is going down the drain; why do you say that I am a success? The fact that your life may be headed in the wrong direction and things might not be working for you as it ought to, does not change God’s plan concerning your life.

God does not create failures; if God ever made something, that thing must be a success. God is a great God and does great things. He is the one perfect in knowledge; He knows all things; He knows the end from the beginning for He is before all things. And He designed your life for His glory.

STRENGTHEN MEN WITH YOUR WORDS!

Job 16:5 But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should assuage your grief.

The book of Job is not just an ancient story. It is an amazing collection of gems from the Spirit of God to us. Even though the writing is poetical, it is more than poetry; it is God’s revelation to us. It is one book that has a lot to deliver to us in this generation. You will do well to get acquainted with the wisdom hidden in this great book by reading it through and through.

The major theme of the book of Job is all about the sufferings of Job, his three friends visitation, and his restoration. I understand Job’s temptation lasted for about 8 months. On hearing what has happened to Job, his three friends, Eliphaz, Zophar, and Bildad came to visit him.

A careful study of the utterances of this three friends of Job really showed they condemned Job without a cause. That’s why later on, God told them to go to Job for him to pray for them other than He will release His wrath upon them.
