BE STRONG IN THE GRACE OF CHRIST

2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Our theme scripture is apostolic instruction to young pastor Timothy. He was instructed by apostle Paul to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. There is grace in Christ Jesus. And we instructed to be strong in it.

The word strong in our opening scripture is from the Greek word “endunamoō which according to Thayer means to be strong, endue with strength, to receive strength, be strengthened, increase in strength. It implies being clothed and endue with grace.

It is one thing to have grace and it is another thing to be strong in it. To be strong in the grace of God means to function at a higher level in the grace of God. It means your revelation of the grace of God is strong. It means being unwavering in the grace of God.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

One time while listening to Andrew Wommack, he gave a scenario between himself and Smith Wigglesworth. One time Andrew Wommack was in a meeting where there was a man in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He believed that this man could walk.

So, he approached the man and lifted him out of his wheelchair; but the man fell right in front of everyone. You could hear gasping in the crowd. Upon this he quietly raised the man back into his wheelchair and encouraged him go home and be warmed.

Smith Wigglesworth had a similar experience but he responded differently. In Smith’s meetings, he will begin by saying that, the first person that will get on to this stage will be healed of whatsoever disease he had.

LIFE BEYOND INFECTION!

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

The new creation in Christ Jesus is beyond infection of any kind. This is an emphatic statement of truth. The word “passed” is from the Greek word “metabaino” which means to change your place. So it implies that the day you got born again, you changed your place from death unto life. Now we live in the arena of life.

They say the worse case scenario is death. Now we have passed from death unto life by our new birth. What is infection compared to death? If we have passed from death unto life, it implies that infection and any other thing that causes death is under our dominion. We are superior to all kinds of infection.

When I hear that a Christian has some infection, I wonder why that should happen. This is because the believer is beyond infection. You are not supposed to suffer from any form of infection. Why should you have any viral, bacteria or fungal infection? It is unacceptable in the kingdom.

Philippians 2:19-22 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly........
20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
22 But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

A lady who was undergoing marriage counselling before getting married, told Bishop Dag Heward Mills, I am your daughter. Immediately, the Bishop replied, you are not my daughter. The lady was taken aback. Then he asked the lady, who do my children look like? Of course they look like me, he said.

Then he asked the lady in the presence of her fiancé, do you look like me? Do you do what I do in the house of God? Are you involved in the vision of the house? Are you involved in the ministry? He told her, you are a very nice member. That’s all!
