YOU HAVE POWER, LOVE AND SOUND MIND

The believers 1YOU HAVE POWER, LOVE AND SOUND MIND

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. KJV

Fear is slavery and its for slaves while power, love and sound mind is freedom which is reserved for sons in the kingdom of God.

Our theme scripture is awesome. It tells us what has not been given and what has been given to us in Christ. When you get to know what you have, then you will know how to use it. One beautiful thing about the New Testament is that, we are not trying to get something; all things have been given to us freely in Christ Jesus. Our responsibility is to search out what has been given to us in order to take advantage of it.

As a child of God in Christ, there is no need to fear. Fear is not of God. Fear is torment and he that fears is not made perfect in love.

THE ANOINTING SANCTIFIES

The believers 1THE ANOINTING SANCTIFIES

Leviticus 8:12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

An understanding of the anointing will greatly enhance our walk with God. Many of God’s children don’t know the anointing. Some think it is falling under the power – that’s an effect of the anointing. There are manifestations of the anointing which may include holy laughter, healing, miracles and wonders. The anointing is God’s power that comes via the Holy Spirit. The anointing is spirit; it is not the anointing oil. When it comes on the anointing oil, that oil can now do wonders.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

WHAT MESSAGE ARE YOU HEARING?

20ReasonsWhyYouShouldBringSomeoneToChurchWHAT MESSAGE ARE YOU HEARING?

Numbers 13:30-31 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

In yesterday’s lesson, I shared with you about the twelve spies that went to spy the land of promise. We were told that ten of them brought an evil report while only Joshua and Caleb brought good news. There is no insignificant detail in the Bible. Every letter, word, punctuation, story, and numbers is vital for our understanding of the scriptures. In some of these seeming insignificant details are golden nuggets of truth. This is because God delights in hiding truths in these things where majority of folks are not looking into it. Hence only those who are searching will find these things.

The numbers “10” and “2” are very interesting. The number “ten” speaks of the law, the Ten Commandments which was given on Mount Sinai by angels through the hand of a mediator. The number “two” speaks of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the gospel of grace; and it is the power of God unto salvation.

KEEP TALKING FAITH

20ReasonsWhyYouShouldBringSomeoneToChurchKEEP TALKING FAITH

Numbers 13:30-31 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

Another story that greatly illustrates faith is the story of the twelve spies who went out to spy out the land of promise. The Bible declares that ten of the men brought an evil report while only two brought good news. Both of these groups of people saw the same thing – the giants, how blessed the land was – but only two of them could see themselves possessing the land.

To begin with they left Egypt in order to go to the promise land and not to wander in the wilderness – the destination was the promise land. They had God with them hence there was no problem. It was God who asked them to go to possess the land; all they needed to do was to believe and go in for the kill. The evil report of the ten men polluted the whole camp that they were not ready to hear what Joshua and Caleb were saying – it looks like bad news sells faster than good news.

ONE DEFILED BY THE DEAD IS OUTSIDE THE CAMP

20ReasonsWhyYouShouldBringSomeoneToChurchONE DEFILED BY THE DEAD IS OUTSIDE THE CAMP

Numbers 5:1 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

The third and final person in this discourse is one that has been defiled by the dead. According to the law, if anyone comes in contact with the dead, that person becomes defiled and has to stay outside the camp. Today what does it mean to be defiled by the dead? The believer gets defiled by the dead when he submits to death talk. Our world is filled with death talk: no one can make it in this country; you must take malaria drugs in every six months; you have to be vaccinated against certain diseases; every where is dry; one out of three people have cancer. The list is endless.

I feel sorry for those who are continuously plugged into radio and television; they are so inundated with all sort of death information. And when they start seeing the manifestations of this death talk, they begin to wonder where it came from. What you believe will eventually make you. And what you believe comes from what you hear. Any talk that is not consistent with redemption truth is a death talk and defiles the believer. The key to stay away from this defilement is to wash your mind with water of the word.
