Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

In most prayer meetings that I have been to, they begin by confessing their sins and asking God’s forgiveness and cleansing before they kick into prayer. Even in the church that I grew up from, this was the norm. This is not consistent with scriptures. To them if you don’t cleanse yourself, God will not hear you. They will even quote an Old testament scripture which says, If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: (Psalms 66:18).

This was before the cross. After the cross, you need to know that things have changed. God does not hear our prayer because we do good things. God hears us because of Jesus. Jesus is the foundation and guarantee of answered prayer. After the healing of the man at the beautiful gate, Peter said, .....”Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” (Acts 3:12)

James 5:16 ........The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The Amplified translation renders our opening scripture this way: .....The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. You don’t need to be worried about the term righteous in the aforementioned scripture. The day you got born again, you became the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

There are times faith confessions and proclamations are not enough to get certain results. I am a faith person who believes strongly in the word of faith. But I am telling you that, sometimes when you come face to face with certain situations, faith confessions is not enough. This is why some people wonder, I have confessed the word but I still don’t see any results! May be it is time to try “fervent prayer” or what it is termed “travailing prayer”. Travailing prayer is what births new dimensions.

Romans 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. NASB

All forms of condemnation is from the devil – he is the author of all accusations, condemnation, fault finding and a sense of unworthiness – these are his weapons to entangle the believer in Christ.

All bad thoughts are from the devil. Some people think that when they have bad thoughts, it is their mind that is talking to them or generating that thought. That’s not true! Thoughts of failure, condemnation, fear of all kinds (whether of the future, heights etc.) have their origin from the devil.

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. NKJV

I know this topic may be offensive to certain people. And in their minds, all that I am doing is to give people a licence to sin. In truth, people really don’t need a licence to sin; people are sinning anyhow without license. Just look around you and you will see how many people are sinning without licence. The way out of sin is grace; and that’s what I am offering you; what I am giving you is the way out of the bondage of sin, guilt and condemnation. I am offering you freedom from religion and the doctrines of men.

Sin cannot taint nor corrupt the righteousness that you have received in Christ. The day you got born again, you were made the righteousness of God, having received God’s own righteousness into your spirit. God made you righteous not because of anything good that you did; His righteousness is a gift that we received at new birth by grace through faith.

Luke 9:29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. KJV

Apostle Arome Osayi said, “If you are up to 21 years old and have never prayed for 10 hours before, you are a comic figure, a Batman, you are a joke.” This may sound offensive to some people. But why don’t you humble yourself and take the challenge to pray for 10 straight hours?

The truth is that you can even pray for 18 hours. The day you receive the Holy Spirit, you were given the potential to pray for several hours, as long as you want to go – the potential is inexhaustible. The problem is that many of us have not exploited the potential power of the Spirit on our inside. And using this potential is not up to God but up to you – you are the one to decide how long you want to pray. I believe if many believers know that they can pray for 6 hours they will pray. That’s why I am telling you today.
