Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Today, we live in a world that it seems as if the church has become corrupt and society seems to have lost respect for church and pastors; and this is simply because some wrong elements have crept into the church and are causing this havoc. And I boldly say that most of these false and funny pastors are not of God. It is the devil who has sent these people into the church to defile the church and to give it a bad name among men, with an eye of making people reject the gospel of Jesus.

But in the midst of all these upheavals, there are a lot of very genuine men of God and Christians around the world. There are still believers who have not compromised their faith in Jesus, just like God told Elijah, I have 7000 men who have not kissed Baal – dare to be among this people.

Daniel 9:2-3 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

When Daniel understood by the writing of the prophet Jeremiah that the desolation of Jerusalem was supposed to be 70 years, he set his face to seek God by prayer and supplications, fasting, sackcloth and ashes. And as he prayed, there was a breakthrough and Israel came out.

Even though their time of captivity was up according to the prophecy of Jeremiah, it took a man of understanding to press into God to get the deliverance that they needed. The fact that God has spoken somethings into your life does not mean that they a will automatically come to pass. Israel was supposed to be in Egypt for 400 years by God’s own mouth, but they spent 430 years.

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

The word of God cleanses the child of God. The word has cleansing power more than any detergent in the world. The believer is washed once by the blood, and forever by the word – this is the truth of the New Testament. The believer doesn’t need to be cleansed every now and then when he or she sins. The blood of Jesus, once and for all time, washed you from all sins – past, present, and future.

The cleansing you need now is the washing of your mind which is done by the cleansing of the word. If you don’t wash your mind with God’s word, your life will not be straight; you will be a confused and uneducated person. True education is in the word of God. A man who does not know the word is the most uneducated.

Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Very often you will hear some believers tell you that, I don’t have time to go to church, or pray or get involved in evangelism. They will say, Pastor, these days I am very busy. Yet, you will find these same people making time for funerals, parties, weddings, etc. God gave us 24 hours in each day; and that is enough for each one of us to make something good out of it and serve Him acceptably.

I have read many stories of people on their death bed; the common thing you will hear from each one of them is that, they have lost value for anything in this world; what mattered to them is their eternal security and life. Most rich people on their sick bed will give up all their riches just to get well.

1 Corinthians 9:7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving]. AMPC

The power of a generous life is awesome and indescribable. Generosity releases power. Sometimes your way out of a predicament is your seed. You can give your way out of poverty.

Every believer should aim to be a generous person. There is no blessing in being stingy. The man who scatters his seed will end up having more. While the man who holds back, will end up lacking. You have to decide where to pitch your tent. The scripture is clear on this:

Proverbs 11:24‭-‬26 says, “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. 26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.”‬‬‬
