Judges 4:21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

The truth is satan dreads the gospel of grace which is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is one reason why he blinds people's minds not to receive its light. If the gospel is not glorious, satan will not waste his time trying to blind men from receiving it. When the true gospel is preached, lives are transformed, and yokes and burdens are lifted.

From our opening scripture, we were told how a woman named Jael killed Sisera, the commander of the army of Canaan. As at this time Israel was under the oppression of Jabin king of Canaan, because they have turned away from Jehovah. Then they cried unto the Lord and He raised Barak, a judge, who led them to fight against Sisera and his host.

During the fight, Sisera fled and went to Heber the Kenite where Jael received him. Later on, while Sisera was asleep, Jael drove a nail of the tent through his temples and he died. The man who oppressed Israel was killed by a woman with a nail. Wonderful! This shows you how weak satan and his cohorts are.

FAITH DOES NOT KNOW IMPOSSIBILITIES

1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Faith is the victory! Faith is not a victory but “the victory”. This implies that when there is no faith in operation, there is no victory in view. In order to walk in endless stream of victories, your faith must be operational and effectual.

One thing I desire in life is to be known as “a man of faith”. I desire to leave the “legacy of faith” on earth. Men of faith do not know impossibilities; they do not take no for an answer. They are daring and determined to achieve any set goal or objective.

Make it your goal to be a man or woman of faith, one whose faith is winning and working mightily. Jesus said that, to the man who believes nothing shall be impossible to him.

GOD IS AT WORK IN YOU!

Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

God is to us what the system unit is to the display or monitor of a computer. In a computer set up, what is very vital is the system unit. This is where all the processes goes on. If you haven't seen the system unit, all you will assume is that it is the display doing the job. It is really God who is at work in us; you have to know that; it is not us trying to accomplish anything. Rather it is God who is working in us and through us.

In our opening text, we are admonished by the Spirit through the Apostle Paul to work out our salvation with fear and trembling in the verse 12. But the verse 13 gives us an insight on how these things works: for it is God who works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure. It implies that it is God who actually puts the willingness and desires in us and empowers us to do His good pleasure for which He created us for.

DON'T BE A CARNAL BELIEVER IN CHRIST!

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

There is such thing as carnal Christians; and there is such thing as spiritual Christians. You have to decide whether to be a carnal believer or spiritual believer. Being born again does not necessarily mean that someone is spiritual.

A carnal Christian is simply one though born again, but he is dominated by his senses and carnal desires. Such person’s way of life is inconsistent with the word of God. Such individuals roll along with their feelings; these are the kind of the people that will tell you that, I will put my Bible aside and teach you a lesson.

Apostle Paul rebuked the Corinthian church for being carnal. Remember that this was the most gifted church in scripture; and yet they were carnal to the core. There was divisions and envying among them; and Apostle Paul called that carnal. They didn’t allow the word of God to dominate them.
