Psalms 91:2 I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Psalm 91 is the protection Psalm while Psalm 23 is the Provision Psalm. Combining these two together will put you over in life. As a child of God, you cannot be disadvantaged in life. God has made all provisions available for your safety as you journey through life on earth, irrespective of the evil happenings around us.

Like never before, the world is becoming increasingly evil; satanic activities are on the rise. What we never saw years gone by have become common place today. Every now and then you hear of some terrorist attack somewhere around the world; innocent folks are being killed and murdered on a daily basis. Natural disasters and car accidents claiming thousands of lives every now and then.

In spite of all these things happening around us, what is God’s plan for His children? Is it possible to live safely? The answer is an emphatic yes.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

This is probably one question a lot of God’s people have not been able to clearly answer. I have heard of men of God who have been in ministry for over 30 years with lots of influence in the body of Christ, and are just finding out what the gospel is. This tells you that the majority of the body of Christ don’t know what the gospel is. Before Jesus ascended to heaven He commanded us to preach one message, the gospel.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

This is the message every creature needs to hear. Why? It is simply because it is the power of God unto salvation. It is the power of God to save your health, finances, marriage, and career. Interestingly, the gospel is not hard to define. The word “gospel” simply means good news. And news is something that has happened already.

THE HOLY COMMUNION IS SATAN'S DEFEAT

1 Corinthians 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

If satan had knew that by killing Jesus would result to his defeat, he wouldn’t have done it, together with the help of evil men. The cross is satan’s defeat. Heb 2:14, says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil”. Through death Jesus paralysed the devil; it implies that He completely disarmed satan. Now what do we do with all of this?

From our opening scripture, we were introduced to some beautiful thought about the power of the Holy Communion. It says, as often you eat of this bread, and drink this cup, you do proclaim the Lord’s death. Thus partaking of the Holy Communion is a proclamation of the Lord’s death.

YOUR KNOWING COMES FROM YOUR REST

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

I love this scripture. What an inspiring thought. This scripture shows us the key to knowing God and seeing His power manifest. To be still means to be at rest. It implies rest from worry and anxiety; resting in the finished work of Christ; it also means speaking in tongues; it means Spirit directed activity. The concept of rest in scripture is such a powerful one. We all know that from the physical point of view rest is important. If you don’t get adequate rest for your body, it does not matter if you are the superman, you will wear and burn out.

You have to learn to rest from worry and anxiety. Scripture tells us in several places not to worry. Someone will say, Pastor Victor, I can’t help it, I just find myself worrying.

Mathew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
