THERE IS NO DISADVANTAGE IN CHRIST

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

This is probably one of the most powerful verses in the Bible. I can take this scripture and teach a whole month on it. This scripture shows the position of the believer; it is the believer’s address. It is our final place of rest. In Christ, we have arrived because all things are in Him. The opening scripture says, if any man be in Christ....... This means that the day you were born again, you were placed or immersed in Christ. Now Christ is your place of abode and residence. What a life!

Today, in many parts of the world, we see so many folks who are disadvantaged. Many are suffering terribly. When you hear what some folks are going through your ear will tingle. Poverty has ravaged many lives; many are sick; some are living in war torn countries with lots of lack and fear. In all of these things, what is the lot of the believer in Christ?

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

When I look at the many things folks struggle with, one may wonder if Jesus ever came to this earth, suffered, died and rose again the third day as victor over all powers. There is no reason for the things that we struggle with today in the church. I think one major reason we struggle with certain things is that we have not grown above those things.

Those of you who are adults, you remember when you used to struggle to write letters and numbers. But today writing those things means nothing; it is not even worth a test to you today. I hope by now you are getting the message! We are supposed to outgrow certain things in life.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

I tell people all the time that sin is not the believer’s problem. And any time I make this kind of statement, I could see shock written all over people’s faces. Many still don’t get this simple truth I have been trying to share over the years. If you don’t know in truth that sin is not the problem of the believer in Christ, your struggle with sin continues.

Our opening scripture is crystal clear on the destiny of sin. Sin has two sides: it is first a nature then an act. We inherited our sinful nature from Adam. When Adam sinned against God in the garden, he passed on to all men the sin nature which is the nature of the devil. Scripture calls it the “the spirit that works in the children of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2). And both the sin nature and the sinful act were all defeated by Christ on the cross. He nailed it to the cross forever.

THE LORD'S SUPPER IS ALL ABOUT JESUS

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Jesus instituted what is known as “The Lord’s Supper”. It is not man’s idea; it is the wisdom of God for the believer’s advantage and prosperity. If we would truly understand what it represents and the power in it thereof, our lives will be transformed greatly.

On the night of the Passover, Jesus took bread and broke and gave it to His disciples and said, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. The Lord’s table is about Jesus and not us. The focus is not us but Him and what He did for us. One major benefit of the Lord’s supper is that it delivers us from self to focusing on Jesus; it makes us Christ occupied. Anytime we partake of the Lord’s supper, we are to remember Him and not our sins.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

A man went to Andrew Wommack for prayer. He mentioned all the sicknesses he was suffering from. Then he said, "but it is my back that hurt the most". If God can heal that one, I can live with the rest. I know you might be laughing now. But you know there are folks out there who have such stinking thinking. Andrew Wommack looked at him and said, I think if we ask God to heal everyone of those sicknesses the lights in heaven might dim; we are not sure God has enough power to pull all that out. The man looked at Andrew and said, "what I said was pretty dumb". And it is really dumb.

If you have multiple sicknesses like this man, don't sit there and say, if God can heal this one, I can live with the rest. This is the trick of the enemy to keep you in bondage and desire second best instead of the best. Jesus did not die to heal some sicknesses but all sicknesses. His death covered every sickness and every need.
