Ephesians 5:15-17 So then, be very careful how you live. Don’t live like foolish people but like wise people. Make the most of your opportunities because these are evil days. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord wants. GW
From our opening scripture redeeming the time means being wise. Redeeming the time has to do with taking advantage of every opportunity, making the best use of time, making good use of every opportunity you have. It has to do with buying back the time. Thus, if you don’t use your time wisely, then you are not wise.
Sometimes it is just too late to do certain things. A man who is 60 years old and says he is training to sprint in the next Olympics is definitely not a serious man; probably something is wrong with his head. He hasn’t thought of time as a factor; he has not redeemed the time.

WORKERS AND SHIRKERS!

Nehemiah 3:5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
Pastor Rick Warren once said that, "In every situation you’re going to have workers and shirkers.” As a Pastor, I have found this statement to be true. A worker is one who makes things happen while a shirker is a person who evades work, duty, and responsibility. You are either a worker or a shirker; there is no neutral ground.
Nehemaiah was an amazing leader. He was able to mobilise men to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days. That’s incredible! Even though Nehemaiah was a great leader, he couldn’t get the noble men of Tekoa to be involved in the vision of rebuilding. These leaders just refused to be part of what was happening.
